Pentel PS523 Sharp for Pros (video review)

My latest video dives deep into the Pentel PS523, a rare collectible cherished by enthusiasts. I trace the complete timeline of the P200’s sliding sleeve models and showcase all three versions of the PS523. These pencils are from @nimrodd Jimmy’s personal collection and all of the hard research for this was completed by Jimmy. Thank you again, Jimmy!

Here is a graphic I had created for the video

Thank you

Is the 12-point retainer ring better than the 6-point?

The 12-point retainer ring is most likely there to ease assembly. A 6-point ring is fiddly, and you may have to insert, remove, and reposition the mech several times before it seats properly. With 12 points, it’s far more likely to seat on the first try. This was probably a manufacturing decision to speed up production.
