I LOVE the soft rubber grips these things have. Very comfortable. I am pretty sure they come in more variations than the ones I show.

Of course there is also the PR1005, with the scented wood impregnated grip.

Reviving this, particularly for the ERGoNoMiX. It was released in 2002, as Pentel’s answer to PILOT’s Dr. Grip.

In one variant, it looked to me like it’s made of cork! Kind of shocking, considering the absorbent quality of it… and thus a magnet for bacteria.
