Do any collectors of the Pentel PD345 have any that they picked from Japan that came with an eraser cap?
According to a twitter post by @haruca_st the Japanese PD345 did not come with a cap.
Just curious.

All my PD345โs with the triangle sticker came without caps and were all born in 1978. These are the only images I know of with caps but donโt know the source:

It seems to be so true!
It looks like the eraser cap was introduced in late February to Early March of 1981.

I wonder if the Japanese release follows the same timeline.
The Japanese release is initially what was in question.

Sorry, I found this out afterwards, but it seems that in some cases the Japanese version also came with an eraser cap. My friend spotted a PD345 with the triangular sticker and an eraser cap at an old stationery store in Japan. The โPentel Clicโ logo was only used on the export models and was not present on the Japanese version.โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

It is possible that the PD345 was cataloged without an eraser and then sold with an eraser.
@DarkwingDuck: But I think, regardless of Pentel Co., LTD (of Japan) or Pentel of America, it is about when, not where.
I was able to find three filed patents in the US for the Quicker Clickers: The 1978 & 1979 ones do not show an eraser cap, but the 1997 does.
