Hey Knockology members! Check out my latest video diving into the six generations of the Pentel P200, based on @nimrodd Jimmy’s research. Use the attached flowchart to identify your P200’s generation.

This one is LONG - its about 45 minutes, and will be made public tomorrow.

Also - the flowchart I made that is based on Jimmy’s research is also available to download here.

My friend just got back from Brazil and brought me a couple of what has to be my favorite limited series of the P200. Great way to celebrate the new video!

Super cool stuff!! Thank you for sharing! Jimmy’s Pentel research is legendary and arguably THE definitive reference source (with continuous improvement, as we all know and appreciate). And now you’ve made it even more accessible! I look forward to watching the video! :slightly_smiling_face:

@justin how frequently does your friend come to Brazil? Would he be able to receive a pencil from me and then forward to @DarkwingDuck ?

He usually goes once a year

Can you check with him if the request is possible, please?

Well he just got back, you want me to ask if he can receive a pencil for you in February 2027?

He usually goes for Carnival

Yes, I’d send him, and then he would forward it to @DarkwingDuck. Shipping directly from Brazil is kinda hard.

I dig that idea

2027 will be here before we know it!

I got these today. 0.7m/m molded into the plastic above the grip but they have 0.7mm printed on the body. I was under the assumption that Pentel phased out the old molds faster than that.

Those are early mold marks but the date codes are consistent with the 3rd generation. Congrats on your find!

I have never found a 4th generation P207, so my assumption is that they either produced these up to the 80’s or had overproduced the bodies and used them up to the 5th generation cutover.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight
