I got these today. 0.7m/m molded into the plastic above the grip but they have 0.7mm printed on the body. I was under the assumption that Pentel phased out the old molds faster than that.
Those are early mold marks but the date codes are consistent with the 3rd generation. Congrats on your find!
I have never found a 4th generation P207, so my assumption is that they either produced these up to the 80’s or had overproduced the bodies and used them up to the 5th generation cutover.

I still have a couple of questions if anyone can help.
When did Pentel stop putting lead jam cleaning rods in the erasers?
Are the 2-digit date codes always uppercase? Is a lowercase just an anomaly or was there a specific time when it was used?
I have a pencil that very clearly belongs to the 6th generation, but it has a white eraser with cleaning rod, non-crimped mechanism, and is marked “0h” (very faint, doesn’t even look like ink). I know for a fact that it was bought before 2020.

No, the 2-digit data codes are not always uppercase. I commonly see ‘b’ which is probably so it doesn’t get mistaken for an ‘8’. I believe I have seen the ‘h’ in lowercase as well.
If it is a 6th gen P200, then it could be is August 2000 or 2010. With the Cleaning Rod, moves it back to probably August 2000.

I bought my P205 from a university campus bookstore in Greece. If you asked me a few days ago, I would have said that it was probably back in 2009. Late 2008 to early 2010 at most. The ”0h” marking threw me a little, I was starting to doubt my memory. You leaning towards 2000 reinforces my initial thoughts. Kinda sad to think that it sat unloved in that bookstore for so long.
