Pencils on my Window

I actually got the ‘mint’ Penco Bullet Pencil Light in the middle of last year but only just put it into rotation after finding a suitable pen to pair with it. I’d been attracted to the semi translucent color of the Penco which gave it an almost jade-like appearance.

In use, the Penco is like a low cost Kerry: a capped design with almost no metal except for the clip, and a simple non-pass through button mechanism. You can use it unposted but I think the length would be too short for most folks.

Two caveats for the Penco:

  1. The refill cap / button is screw-on. I almost accidentally forced pulled it off. And yeah, no eraser included.

  2. The mechanism is atypical and cannot be taken apart easily. I think the closest parallel is a Caran D’Ache 844 with its annoying c-clamp retaining collar.

And, oh yes, the Kaweco Sport rollerball in ‘Fine Lime’. I think it was part of the 2024 Tropical Fruit limited colors. I’d skipped those totally until I got the Penco and wanted a translucent light-green pen of some sort. I finally picked the capped roller version over the clicker ballpoint for a better match to the Penco.

Lastly, I actually did put these up on my frosted windows to try and capture the translucency. Similar approach for the Tombow MONOgraph 10th Anniversary.
