PD205 Pianissimo "Orenge"

There was an interesting listing today, wasn’t there? It’s the orange PD205 Pianissimo.

It was discontinued just one year after its release, and it was then replaced by the D Green model.

I couldn’t buy it, but my friend was able to purchase it instead.

I had briefly considered going down the Techniclick/Pianissimo rabbit hole, but stopped myself after realizing how many had been released exclusively in Japan and Disney World Japan, specifically. The P205 and its endless colorways is enough for me.

I’m genuinely amazed by how many Pentel Disney series products there are… lol

@erhunter71 has a large collection of Pentel Disney pencils. He has provided most of these pictures for the Pentel Pencil Book.

I have definitely gone down the Pianissimo/Techniclick rabbit hole. I have several boxes of the versions with colored leads. I also have most of the Disney varieties. There are also several cool variants. I’ll post more about it one of these days when I finally get organized.

Did the PD205 ever have a brass clutch?

Yes, the original version released in 1996 uses a brass clutch. However, the limited reissues produced in recent years have been changed to plastic clutch.

I have an original PD205C and a reissue PD205-B2, as well as a PD205 Ain Sampler pencil. All of these have a Brass clutch.

Does the reissue PD205-B2 really have a brass clutch? From what I remember, the 2020 re-release model was supposed to have a plastic clutch…

Is this the same orange model?

The listing at the top says p205 as the model number on the actual pencil.

On your listing it shows p215 on the actual barrel.

…doesn’t mean it isn’t the same pencil, but they do have different markings

No, that listing is for the PD215, which is different from the PD205. Specifically, it uses color lead (not standard graphite lead) and does not come with an eraser.
