Thank You: @ulfesharpe Vasco - I removed the bit where I’m fidgeting with the tip regulator. @drifand Kelvin - I made both corrections - Thank you for the help on the clutch. I BROKE my first MS01 while filming, so I was super paranoid - Especially with my PM-1503S. @cytherian Gary - I’m going to compare all of my pencils that retract when I do the MS01 video (or sooner). Although the channel will focus on discontinued models, I like the idea of showing comps to modern ones. I did that in this one (showed the Dive for a sec) but TBH was under a time crunch (very busy work week).
Thank you for taking the time to watch, and especially for the feedback.
If you don’t mind me saying so, maybe there’s excessive fingering to and fro starting min 2:00 to 2:45… What the pencil does should be visible via more compact examples. Granted, it does a lot of things.
I wonder… do you have any Platinum drafting pencils, like the Pro Use 171? Perhaps it would be useful to have a short comparison. Yes, the 171 does not feature a lead regulator, only the pipe regulator function. It’s certainly a competitor to the MS01. And on discount sites, it’s about the same price.
@Pdunc67 - at the 1:19 mark, you said that the PM1500S was available in 0.3/5/7/9… leaving out the 0.4mm. The 0.4 is shown later at 10:04 when you detail the end-cap construction.
At 11:39, it is possible to unscrew the chromed tip to reveal the actual clutch. OK, that’s all I have.

Managed to watch the video only a few moments ago; the fact that you got Dave’s own pencil, and made it the star of one of your videos, is the icing on the cake.
Thank you
I told Dave when I bought the pencil from him, I felt like I was buying Muhammad Ali’s boxing gloves. I think this pencil has the best backstory in my collection
I was really happy to get it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one for sale on Mercari or yahoo auction.
