Is there an explanation for this? Seems quite ornate for a tool meant to simply slide through a lead sleeve/nose cone.
From what I can remember, two events:
••• being able to purchase a Kohinoor 5640 for only $90 due to a seemingly considerate/rushed/inexperienced (???)seller. Whether or not it was worth “celebrating” is up for debate. I certainly did.
••• Finding a (what I thought to be “forever lost”) MUJI (still have NO CLUE regarding model # etc…) 0.5 drafting pencil with a retractable sleeve SEEMINGLY brand new. $18ish on mercari japan.
I view the search that day a MIRACLE …. Hadn’t searched the brand in WEEKS. Fortunately I searched “MUJI” THAT day and succeeded.
•••And then there was my Efini 0.5mm trifecta. 3 for less than $13.00. Still blows me away how little Japanese consumers value this Fuji Corona varient.
(Last I checked $85 a pop on eBay)
Actually the salesman thought it’s not working!
Nice scores, HJ!
That Kohinoor Rapidomatic 5640 was certainly a terrific deal. I almost snagged a similar deal… got to my email alert a bit late and someone beat me to the punch, last month:
I don’t know much about Elfini. Is the build quality of that trio on par with other Fuji Corona pencils?
I couldn’t help but notice that LAMY Spirit tucked in there. Is that a long held acquisition or something you scored more recently?
That’s a bummer, that would have been a steal!
They are, in fact I found those because I randomly bought my FIRST one for $6 on mercari.
I’ve had the LAMYSpirit for a while now. The idea of it being one piece of metal/rolled(?) blew me away. It’s just a bit too thin to use comfortably. But its originality made it a must have in my eyes. Paid around 75$ for it on eBay.
The Schwan Stabilo Microtom is a big score!
Enfini (the way it is pronounced) was explained to me by a Japanese on X: It was the high-end branding for a number of Mazda cars, including the RX-7, which was renamed Enfini RX-7 instead of the preceding Savanna RX-7.
