•Pilot-Trendors Men 0.5
•Mitsubishi-Hi-Pitch M5-30 0.3 (*****)
•Mitsubishi-Transparent-Color sharp 0.5
•Uchida-Drawing sharp (Grid) 0.3
•Uchida-Lead Holder 2.0
•Pentel-PG4 0.4
•Pentel-PMG 0.3

-Finally attained a Young Gentleman. It is smaller than I expected. Seamless operation. Was hoping it would overtake the Mitsubishi M3-100 as best double knock I’ve experienced… but alas, it is just a bit too small to win that title from me. Otherwise, I’m SO glad to finally have found one.

*****Edit: I COMPLETELY forgot about the Fuji Corona 205-0.3…. THAT being my first, then the Mitsubishi, then the Young gentleman….
-Trendors Men is a bit smaller than I anticipated. But all around weight and quality are exactly as I’d hoped. All metal. The cap has a unique indented red “slash” across it. Overall, quite pleased, especially for the 15$ I paid.

-Hi-Pitch delivers on all points the F.C. version does. Where the F.C. was lacking, the Hi-Pitch made up for in its black barrel and 0.3mm lead size.
****Edit: Upon actual inspection, it is the 0.5 version. Bummer bummer indeed…. So I’m guessing the model number is M5-50?

-The transparent color sharp…. Biggest purchase regret. Ever. It’s too light, just boring. I really need to stop drinking and sniping :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:.

Nothing is wrong with it, I’m sure someone might LOVE it…. Unfortunately, that person will never be me. It simply lacks the flair I always hope to feel when handling a new M.P.

-The Grid Uchida is BY FAR my favorite so far in the Uchida line (though I’m still hoping the red Kent 0.3 surpasses it [if I ever attain it]). It has just a bit more heft and sturdiness that my previous acquisitions have lacked. This was my biggest pleasant surprise this order. I HIGHLY recommend.

-the chide lead holder is perfect in every way a lead holder should be…. It matches the above Uchida beautifully as well. Unfortunately, it’s a lead holder and I simply can’t persuade myself to be enthusiastic about it (not for lack of trying). If you are into lead holders, this will not disappoint.

-the PG4 and PMG 0.3 are a staple in most everyone’s collections. For some reason I never felt the prices would accurately reflect the quality of these pencils. I was only able to acquire them through my “low-ball snipe” tactic. FORTUNATELY they are a higher quality than I had anticipated and look forward to using them both. They each have a simple “natural” feel that I’m glad to have finally experienced. (Not to mention I’m a sucker for capped M.P.s so I’m stoked to have collected another.)

I hope someone finds this helpful

P.s. if anyone is in the market for a transparent Mitsubishi color sharp MAN do I have good news for you! Feel free to dm! I’m willing to get rid of it for 20% less than I paid. (Hopefully this is allowed outside the Marketplace🙏)

Edit: just in case anyone had never seen the Pilot Trendor disassembled. This is it above. It is incredibly simple/efficient, as well as an incredible delight to use.

Great set, well done!

I have to say that this set is a really efficient haul. Well done. Could be someone’s whole vintage collection, and a very nice one at that.

Sorry the clear Mitsubishi didn’t work out for you.

The Uchidas make the most elegant pairing.

I was surprised they played off of one another so well. They are by far the highest quality Uchidas I own, by a long shot.
