Release End of April
I’ll be damned. I like it!

Honestly
The grip is the only reason I don’t buy the 925-35 because it’s just not pleasing to the touch for me.
Otherwise I would’ve collected all the green and yellow because that picture from @Heath is so unbelievably beautiful…
This grip looks very nice AND I can get it in 0.9
I’m pretty excited.
Staedtler didn’t overprice the reg so I don’t imagine this will be unaffordable either
It’s 1320 yen after tax, so around 12 USD? Since I think most japanese stationery sell for a dollar per 100 yen
I’ve been looking for an S10 killer. Never found one in the past decade. This might be it.
Edit: I was probably wrong about that. I personally feel a bit disappointed as I discover the metal 925 15 does not have a reverse taper at the grip/lead indicator area, and the fact that the upper barrel seems to be identical to that of the base 925 15, which means the metal grip is probably as thin as the upper barrel of the base 925 15 (that’s 8.3mm, even thinner than the Graph 1000). Not that it makes the pen worse by any means, just I personally would prefer a 9.5mm grip like the base 925 15/75.
It has been released.
Exactly as I expected, 8.3mm grip diameter. Here’s it compared to a Pilot S3 (9.5mm).
Weighs 16g, so negligibly lighter than a 925 25. Thanks to the super lightweight body barrel of the base 925 15, the center of gravity lies low, much like the Pilot S10.
The knurled texture feels like a slightly rougher 925 85 (so WAY less sharp than 925 25), but because the grooves are cut wide enough, we’re not compromising on grip traction here.
The main barrel is identical to the base 15, except for the MB/MW printed text. Here’s the metal grip screwed on the base 15 perfectly.
As with almost every other Staedtler Japan product, the integrated tip-grip is also sold as a separate part, so if someone has a spare 925 15 lying around, technically they can just buy the grip and mount it on. (I’m not sure of the separate part’s availability overseas.)
I personally prefer the silver one, nice contrast between the semi-glossy silver metal and the matte white plastic.
Anyone have any disassembly pictures yet?
loft yellow swap coming soon?
got my copies coming ![]()
