Hi Everyone! Just wondering if anyone here can help me with a couple different pencils.
The first is a Pentel P245 where the eraser has been pushed deeply into the barrel. It had slid into the barrel, then I tried “spearing” it with a lead clearing pin to pull it out, but it just went further in. I can’t seem to take the tip off to try pushing it back out the end.
The second pencil is a Pentel Graph. The lead appears to be stuck inside the barrel. See pic below. (The tip isn’t clogged. At least I’m able to put a clearing pin pretty far into it and nothing comes out the other end.) I can’t grab the lead. Shaking and tapping doesn’t produce any results. I tried putting a little WD40 in the barrel, but it didn’t do anything. When pushing a piece of lead through the top it only goes so far before being stopped.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!
I recommend buying a cheap set of 3D printer nozzle cleaning rods. You can find them pretty cheap on any e-commerce website. The set I bought comes in an array of small diameters from 0.1 all the way up to 1.0mm.
I had some particularly clogged Sakura Creates that took me ages to unclog. I had to work up to the correct diameter because the old lead had completely deteriorated within the leadtube and was not coming out in one piece.
As for the eraser, if you’re willing to sacrifice the eraser, what I’ve had to do in the past is take two folded-out paper clips and try piercing the eraser at two different angles and then leverage them and twist them around to pull the eraser out. It was a messy affair, but I eventually got the offending article out.
