I can’t remember the item, though I do follow him and his auction persona ifly something I can’t remember, he cancelled my single bid on something that was a steal for the item. I assume it was because he didn’t want to let it go for that amount
Reminds me of a Tombow Titan V-472 MP, but I’m unsure about the junction between the last bit of the tip and the middle part of the tip — the image has too much blurring…
Close, but not quite. You can see how the tip has a longer pipe guide and wider base to it that extends through the opening, wider than the photo I provided.
I was going to suggest the rotring skynn, but I don’t think they made a pencil version (correct me if I’m wrong).
Come to think of it, this isn’t the notorious core, is it?
You’re right you’re right
Couldn’t have been that simple
Btw, I’m thinking… given how the Knockology site has a new feature for marking a topic as “question” with a “solution” flag to place on a comment… might it make more sense to start a new topic with each new guess post?
So, "Name that PENCIL or PEN! [2] as the title, with the number incrementing with each one?
Or, does it make more sense to just keep this all within one long topic? Maybe this is better, so you can bookmark a topic for new posts. If the topic changes… then a bookmark obvious won’t work. The only thing is, when you mark the comment as “solution”, it removes the solution marker from the previous one.
Unless there’s a site option to allow for more than one comment to be marked as “solution?”
The feature only allows for one solution. I like the idea of a new post.
Since I inadvertently managed to guess the answer, I will have a go at starting a new post and doing the question/solution thing (I could use the practice!)

Sorry Domingo, Alan beat you to it!
Come on, the guy opened a new thread to continue the game, nobody knows what that two-jaw clutch is.
I did not reveal this - as I knew the answer from the beginning! Just this morning - I received this - thanks to the efforts of many here - but mainly @Mecha
I am so confused by this timeline. You knew what answer from the beginning?
If I am not mistaken:
In May, @cytherian posted the Kuretake as a Name that Pencil challenge. He revealed the answer May 23.
In August, you joined the forum and asked for help finding a long lost pencil. It was a very fun search-and-find exercise that concluded with the Kuretake being the long lost pencil.
Were you just pulling our leg the whole time??? Am I in some sort of Truman Show where my pencil obsession is playing search and find games on repeat?
I assure you—this really happened. It unfolded the way it did due to a misunderstanding on my part.
I’ve been searching for this pencil since 1998. When I joined the forum in August, I quickly identified and acquired it, thanks to help from a few members mentioned elsewhere. Crucially, I only learned the pencil’s identity just before obtaining one. Afterward, I searched the forum for its brand and model and came across @cytherian’s post—which featured the exact image used in the auction where I got mine. Naturally, I assumed that post had emerged from my search efforts, not realizing it was an unrelated coincidence.
I had missed the original question that was posted back in May—it was buried among tens of thousands of threads, and I wasn’t a member at the time. Even after joining, I wouldn’t have found it through a search, since I hadn’t yet known what pencil to look for.
Awesome. Thanks for clarifying and for understanding my confusion. I am glad to know that even though I may be losing my mind, it is not because of this hobby.
Didn’t I see in the fine print the correct “guesser” gets the subject pencil???
Love it. You go first.
A prize sounds awesome!
