My New Video on D.J. Fugle / Leadlok Pencils!

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share an early look at my latest video focusing on D.J. Fugle and Leadlok pencils before it officially goes live!

Watch it here: https://youtu.be/XayNDhbC898

Important Note on the Link: This unlisted link will remain active from now until late Sunday night (June 28th) when I schedule the final release before heading to bed. Once scheduled, the link will temporarily go dark until the video officially publishes early Monday morning (June 29th).

A huge, special thanks goes out to @lsd300 for his incredible contributions to this project. This video wouldn’t be what it is without him generously sharing pictures of some of the rarest Fugle items around. I really appreciate the help, man!

Like many of us, I was originally drawn into collecting mechanical pencils by all the fascinating engineering and “gadgetry”—sliding sleeves, automatic feed mechanisms, Kuru Toga engines, twist erasers, and the like. But lately, I’ve really enjoyed stepping back to appreciate the simpler aspects of our hobby, perfectly exemplified by lead holders. They have earned a firm, permanent spot in my collection, and out of all the holders I own, I think these Fugle pieces are the ones I love the most.

Check out the video and let me know what you think!

I look forward to watching this collaboration when I get back. I’m also a big leadholder fan, but thus far (and thus far is quite a long way) haven’t managed to obtain a single Fugle specimen.

I suppose you could call me Fugless.

I have a DJ Fugle that was my dad’s when he passed back in the 90’s. Started a collection of them.

Fantastic video. I might have missed it in your video, but I am curious to learn more about the octagonal barrels vs the hex barrels.

Am I the only one who’s thinking of club music every time I read DJ Fugle?

Nope

Better than leaving you in a Fugle state…

A.W. Faber/Emca was not only competing for the Lead Pointer, but Emca also had a Lead Holder called the Nylo Grip (shown here with their later Lead Pointer - I wish I owned this).

Here are the two early Lead Pointers I have from A.W. Faber and Emca.

Here are some of my D.J. Fugle Lead Loks with corresponding colored Emca Precision Point sharpeners.

And here is a box of more of the DJ Fugles that I have.
