K-301 with a ¥800 sticker?

Same. I see you have 4 of the retractable Rubber Glip models. I managed to get only one.

These days? It feels like over a year since any have turned up. I don’t understand why, as it seems Colleen Jib models were made in very large numbers.

These 5 are so lovely. The tip on the left two is fantastic. I am usually not a fan of graphics, but the Egyptian(?) motif on the other three is really wonderful.

Thank you for these details! I didn’t know all that. I bought these pencils about 15 years ago, but never paid much attention to the manufacturer (I don’t know why).

I had that one on the left. Really nice pencil maybe a tad too light but it has a great form factor, like the Amphisbaenia ( * ). I tried to remove the imprints… and it didn’t go well

Hey, did I sell you the green 1033 with the rampant sticker? I seem to remember having one just like that.

(To the question whether I should have glued it back - my answer is “no”. I never alter a pencil condition, I only clean them superficially)

Actually, no, or at least the sticker wasn’t trying to get out yet

c

Shouldn’t have sold any of them! ahahah…

I agree; I haven’t seen any of these in a long time. The last one I recall seeing was a WK-1033 which I think someone on this board ended up snagging.

I don’t have a green WK-1033, but man—that specimen you posted is 10/10 :star_struck:

Ohh I see yours has a plastic button and a ¥700 sticker  what’s the number on that one, then??

That would be the K-703, as indicated here

There’s a giant lot of Colleen Jib double knocks up on Yahoo Auctions Japan right now.

Some are in need of some extensive love!

Sadly, so many of them seem to be in bad cosmetic condition. The worst is clips pitted with rust. But those rubber grip double-knock Colleens… wow. So many! Unfortunately, they’re coated in some kind of filth, that looks like water scum… like these had been exposed to liquid.

It seemed like there could be 30~50% of them that could be rescued. I bid… but then a tenacious bidder showed up. And I just wasn’t going to push it too far.

¥14000 though? Individually they don’t command that much money!
Colleen does/did make a nice crispy double knock. Arguably as good as or better than some, but I can’t see paying that much.

The “rubber grip” models have netted ¥4000 ~ ¥8000 for one in nice condition. Look how many are in there. The bronze / brown colored double-knocks that are in OK shape could easily sell for $20 USD each on eBay. Look at how many there are…

The only trouble is the unknown factor. Some of that grime may be very difficult to clean off, and it’s possible that anodizing is damaged. The seller could’ve just done a basic cleaning. This sold for less than it should have, if they’re all serviceable and aside from some clip rust here and there, having no appreciable body damage.

Wow, I would not have put that much value on that.

The Colleen “Rubber Grip” (they call it “Rubber Glip”) are actually pretty nice, metal bodied mechanical pencils. Hardly any tip wobble.

Notice the year on these. Seven years ago… and today they sell for the same price or higher, but that’s just one (not two).
