When I started collecting, I learned about the Platinum MT-350 from some heavy hitting collector (who it was I don’t remember) and added it to my list. The square barrel, unique tip, and titanium color were all very appealing.
I eventually lost hope of getting one after countless searches. I settled for the Saturn 0.3 and 0.5 that Elton has in unlimited supply.
Fast forward to my move to Taiwan where I happened across the MT on a local shopping website. Thrilled to get it at a good price. Here it is:
More than a year later, the same shopping website’s algorithm put an unknown wonder from Korea in my recommended items: the Morning Glory PROVISION. And it happened to be yet another version of the same pencil style as the Saturn and the Platinum.
Of the three models, I like the grip and tail on the Morning Glory PROVISION the best. The packaging is cheap, but really nicely done. The graphics are just my style.
A related question - My MT has the 350 sticker but the body says 300. I have also seen a 250. They all look the same. What is the difference?

Very nice find! The segmented grip is reminiscent of the TK-matic et al. Is the PROVISION in current production?

I had an MT-350 that I purchased back in 2010, before I specialized into Pentel P200’s.
I sold it a few years ago.

Pretty sure this stock is 20 years old. But not sure. (Edit: pretty sure, but not sure. Ha)
The packaging and glue on the packaging feels like 90s. I’d guess it was made relatively shortly after the Saturn and the MT, whenever that was.

Fantastic find – never would’ve imagined the MT-350 had a “cousin” of sorts. Looks so beautifully packaged and I like the style with annotations on features. Was this a Korea only release?
Could you elaborate a little on this?
Appears to be Korea only based on packaging.
Similar to ebay’s ‘other related items’ feed. Or Amazon’s ‘more options to consider’. The website knows my shopping trends and randomly fed me the PROVISION.
Oh, it’s a Korean sales site that includes used & new items? Morning Glory of Korea?

It is Shopee of Taiwan. It has new and used.
Back of the box says manufactured in Korea November 1994.

This Spalding is a very curious case. The original company was AG Spalding Bros, a sporting goods company founded in 1885 by a basketball player. There are now two companies descended from that company, Spalding (which still makes sporting goods under new ownership), and AG Spalding Bros, which shifted toward luxury goods, pens, etc.
The thing that makes this pencil extra curious is that it is not branded AG Spalding Bros, but rather Spalding. This seems to indicate there was a time when even the modern sports brand Spalding was making luxury goods.
