Starting in the 1980s and right into the 1990s, the Nissan Skyline GTR was the King Of The Track, capturing championships left, right and center, back-to-back… and sending the competition sulking off into the pit lanes. I’m no expert, so there goes the extent of my knowledge; my fascination is just skin deep here but WOW, what a beauty this is!
Presenting the Hasemi Skyline Super Silhouette DR30 No. 11 from 1982, all decked out in actual TOMICA livery. This racing car is actually designed by none other than Takuya Yura himself, the man who brought us the Sakura ARCHI Y and Y2.
To pair with such a highly tuned up piece of kit, I chose another ‘Suspension Ballpen’, this time by AUTOart Design. Unlike the malfunction-prone push-tip mechanism by Platinum, AUTOart went with a simple screw on cap and anodized metal construction.
Now I wonder if there are real life ‘HOT WHEELS’ or ‘MATCHBOX’ liveried race cars out there? ![]()
