Manufactum Pencils

The balance is way better on the aluminum with black grip.

On original I find the aluminum to just be too light without some forward weight.

I knew this one would be better with the switch; I’m guessing the black barrel with aluminum grip is horribly off-balance now.

I’m feeling a vibe from somewhere… hmmm…

I left it like that. I think it looks really good too!

Now I wish I would have ordered all three. Damn you, Justin.

The Blick Premier, incidentally, is nearly identical to the Amazon Basics drafting pencil, now discontinued, except for the shape of the clip, cone, and lack of a ring between the grip and barrel. These are fairly cosmetic; the overall design and manufacturing materials are the same. These were revealed by therealpearsonified on reddit a couple of years ago, to be manufactured by Kotobuki.

I disassembled my Blick Premier and Amazon Basics pencils just now for quick comparison, so these are not well-staged images.

Welcome to the forum, @noahf! Super cool to see both of these disassembled next to each other.

Hello. That’s funny because I’ve never owned or sold Pentel Rolly models  And I don’t do that 99 price thing. My prices are usually what I think they are worth for a collector at that particular moment + 30% ebay wolfing in unfortunately and shipping is free. Btw, many pencils that now go for 200 300 400 500 usd I’ve sold them for 100 or less for many years when Ebay was a C2C place. When I started in 2015 I actually did a dinner-out because I sold a brand new 925 95 07 for $175. That episode aside, I thought I was well-known for being a total fool…

As to the Manufactum pencil, I was alerted by a person here that they were still selling them. I thought they’d gone extinct. So I removed that listing. That same person kindly invited me to this forum, but I’ve only joined last week.

As you were. Cheers.

You’re right, and I apologize. I got seller names mixed up. I rechecked and the seller I bought from was ragimundi1958, who was also from Portugal. I removed my post. Cheers.

No worries @cytherian. We’re good as before. I appreciate your response.

Oh, btw, ragimundi is from Brazil

Is anyone here using their Manufactum pencil on a regular basis? If so, how is it holding up?

One of mine stays at my computer work desk and gets used to take notes on a daily basis. Besides the nice patina it’s operating like the day I got it.

It’s not “pretty” anymore but I still like it.

No, because it got to the point of being magnificent! Love the patina on brass and brass-assimilated stuff: that pencil looks as close to steampunk stationery as one can get, and this is something special.
