Interesting little thing I just got from an ebay seller who also had 3 other similary custom shortened 0.5mm thin-lead mechanical pencils. This one has an aluminium body though and was originally red, judging by the underlying paint just visible in the barrel interior. It has the screw-in pointer in the button that is typical of Koh-I-Noor leadholders, though the collet jaws component wont unscrew. Looks like the top button has also been cynched onto the brass lead tube using the chuck of a lathe and the outer barrel must have been quite nicely
worked down to a cylinder on the back half on a lathe too. Well worth 17 quid, just for the labour!?

Thanks! I prefer that 2.00mm stub, but this idea of making miniatures of some relatively famous pencils is interesting and fun.
