Is it possible for the Pilot S3 to be broken down in the same way I see others? I don’t want to force anything but I can only remove the button, eraser, clip and cone. I’d like to remove the lead tube but it really seems stuck in there!

Unfortunately, the lead tube is permanently held in place by the one-way friction fitted brass clutch. I guess this was the result of making the assembly more efficient, using less machining and parts for the clutch block.

@Pdunc67 does your ‘S15’ method apply here? ‘Punch’ out the clutch etc?
I was thinking about that, but it’s pretty destructive if you mess up. I destroyed a pencil making the video by pushing too hard

Note that the S3’s mechanism can be rotated on its axis by removing the eraser cap and twisting it with your fingers. The mechanism is captive, but it rotates quite freely, as is the case with many s3 pencils. Is this also true of the S20?
