New issue - next problem: Czech Post has raised the price for all shipments (except letters - means docment only) since January 2026… prices start at about $27.5… crazy….
EDIT: Except for Germany, Poland etc. (nearest countries) is this shipping same for almost all countries… To Germany etc. I can ship cca for $17.5
EDIT2: to most countries it starts from $27.5

I’ve also realized the main reason why it’s so hard to win my auction targets. Just the people in this discussion thread alone must have contributed who knows how much to Japan’s GDP (lol).

When an economic slowdown hits, it’s almost always small businesses and individuals who take the hardest blow. Large corporations — the ones that actually contribute most of the tax revenue to the real economy — tend to be far less affected. Governments somehow always manage to create plenty of exceptions for the trade players they decide “shouldn’t” be impacted.

So it seems we’re finally able to send goods to the United States from Portugal — but it requires a code that is issued by zonos Zonos Prepay App - Pay U.S. Postal Duties Fast | Zonos . They say there’s no code, but there is a code that you need to enter in your duties online forms here… You have to register, share your personal data and bank data with Zonos (who the hell is Zonos??)… And you’re the seller.
In short, it’s just more paper work and annoyances to ship stuff out… and it irks me that the sender needs to pay for what is a charge that belongs to the buyer.
Forcing the rest of the world to do their job for them is… not okay. So I’m not keen of shipping stuff to the US for the time being.

Update: the process at Zonos Prepay is simple, but it implies that you’re capable of printing docs and have a tech readiness and a tech savviness that I’m not sure you’re obliged to have as a simple “sender” of goods to another country. Too many demands. It’s an abuse how post offices and customs offices around the world force you to do their own work, or otherwise you can’t send stuff or receive stuff. It’s just obnoxious how things have turned so much against you and me under the cover of tech progress.
Shipping to the United States requires me to go to Zonos Prepay, upload images into an AI engine, that reads the goods and sets a price for collectibles (a street price, like they’re being sold now), then do the corrections, pay, get a code, then open my the “national” post office site, take 30 mins to fill the online forms… Then you have to print a receipt and stick it in a plastic cover to the envelope or box and also use a printer to create a label with the address and the “DEC ID” on it. It seems like progess, but it’s not. A few years ago I just went to the post office and shipped stuff to any location in the world without any forms and having to take pics, and prepay stuff and whatnot.
It just got so uninteresting and complicated that I’m probably closing my Ebay account and moving to Etsy or whatever platform that allows me to ship to the EU only.
I will stop selling/trading with the rest of world until all the process now is revised and (wishfully) removed from practice
