Slightly off topic but also a word of caution. I recently bought and shipped a single pencil from Buyee. It was an impulse purchase when I broke my Windom, but there was a silver lining - the pencil I received was in working condition and came with instructions. Someone had the forethought to remove the battery years ago!
Anyway back on topic , I was at that point spending money I didn’t plan on and was basically going cheap as I could.
I opted out of the “extra” packing options. When you do this, they literally ship the 8x10 paper envelope to you. As is. Thank goodness the seller packed it well, as the envelope was torn at some point. I wish I would have taken a picture because the envelope also had a partial shoe print on jt!!! Someone dropped and STEPPED on my package!!! Anyway - it all worked out in the end, but I think ill be spending the extra ¥500 going forward.
Recent changes in DHL shipping from Germany to the USA
Due to a recent U.S. decree, customs regulations for imports into the U.S. are changing.
Private senders can continue to send gifts to private individuals with a value of up to USD 100 per shipment and documents by mail to the U.S. and the U.S. customs territory of Puerto Rico .
Please ensure that:
- the total value of the goods does not exceed 100 USD / 85 EUR
- the contents of the gift shipment are declared as “gift/poison” in accordance with US import regulations or documents are marked as such
- the country of origin of the goods is indicated for each item of goods
Due to the new US customs regulations regarding mail shipping, the shipping of gifts or merchandise with a value of over USD 100 is no longer possible until further notice. Private and commercial senders can use DHL Express to ship goods in this case .

According to information from the Czech Post, customs duties must be paid when the shipment arrives in the US (package with price higher than 100 USD). This means that either eBay would have to collect this amount immediately upon purchase (as it works now, e.g. before GSP), or I would have to increase the price by the customs duty (perhaps including the postage cost), and in addition, the Czech Post does not have information on how to collect and pay customs duties… in my opinion, DHL does not know either.
However, for example, on last Friday Czech Post did not accept any shipments to the USA…
on Buyee, not only are they tacking on a 20% customs charge, they have turned off all but the most expensive shipping options. A box this size cost me about $50 last month. They want $186 now -
I have 28 days left - may just let this ride out for a few weeks, to see if things settle down, but damn.
On the surface that sounds extreme, (to some extent it is) but that includes the 20% tariffs and the original shipping cost.
Take the value of your package and multiply it by .20, Then take that number and add the original $50 you’re referencing. Does it come out to roughly that $163 number ?
its close - I guess my beef is that they took away EMS and the other more economical options. This would have been about $50. now my only option is $85

No news about tariffs other than I doubt they will be cancelled.
I’ve received a few packages through standard post from both France and Germany and neither incurred any fees.
If you have access to standard post and can keep the declared cost of the package below $100, packages will still come though without tariffs if labeled as a gift.

Not the same topic but I am so very annoyed that I almost never get any coupon discount through Buyee. Thus far my transactions have been in thousands of pounds! There are coupons for literally every other website on there but Mercari! I want to pull my hair out 
That’s the thing: oh, he’s a regular who keeps on buying without coupons? Then that’s good for us!
I once blocked Buyee for over 6 months, but I kept using their search to find items and then going elsewhere to complete my purchase. Result: a 5000 yen one-off discount to get me back on board.
I asked Czech Post office, and as said by @DarkwingDuck, if the package is marked as a gift (and its value will be under 100 bucks - unverified information), then there should be no problem (I hope) with delivery…
