If this old Pentel SG7 could talk

…what stories would it have for us? Got this beat-up feller for $10 cheap. Pencil’s tip is no bueno (crushed near the end, it’s asking to be retired already!!) In order to work, it’s gonna need a later-version SG7 donor tip.

Is that the single piece tip, or the fitted pipe?

If it is the pipe, my suggestion is to purchase a cheap '86 Olympic pencil or set (sub-$20). I did that for my SG75 that someone had replaced the tip with a PS65 tip.

This original one is the single piece tip. I plan on fitting in a tip from the later glossy SG7s from the 80s.

Where did you find this?

Brochure inside the Excalibur set.

Here are scans of the inside and back cover of the brochure.

I love when someone shows up with “new to me” content.

Dang I’m jealous! Love that case as well.

I didn’t know that the Excalibur sets ever had that style of ring.

I believe that ring was only included on the P1005 and P1007, which had different tips from every other Excalibur-branded MP.
