I FINALLY have new arrivals. Happy New Year All

(Disclaimer):: I feel as if it’s been ages since I’ve received a decent “bulk” of MPs worthy enough to share. Please feel free to inquire about anything at all, I’m happy to share any/all info possible. Also, feel free to correct me if I accidentally misinform :+1:

From left to right:
—Tombow monotech (sh-1000) 0.3mm [NOS/STICKER]

—DD.Pro-1000 0.7mm/0.5mm [the 0.7mm came with the 0.5mm, otherwise I wouldn’t own it ]. They surprisingly came inside a drafting kit where the ONLY missing item was the 0.3mm version :unamused:

–Linex DP1000/0.5mm (double-knock with side button release. I kept seeing this for various prices, finally pulls the trigger for $30ish on mercari japan. It’s incredibly light, but somehow exudes quality with every action it performs. Quite fluid and fun. I highly recommend.[NOS/STICKER]

–Kitera KS-01 0.5mm: expected VERY little from this one but I LOVE Mimics of the OG Kohinoor. I have a Pyramid 0.3mm mimic as well, but it (quite surprisingly) falls short compared to the Kitera.

I searched for this design on mercari/jap after seeing @drifand ’s post(thank you!) One result came up for $6.00.

Its main distinction from the others is its sliding sleeve. Completely pocket friendly.

—Pilot H-3003 0.3mm double-knock. FINALLY found one I didn’t need to sell a kidney for. Flawless functionality…. It may be my imagination, but it has a bit of extra something that the H-2003 does not (aside from the nose, that is).

—(my second of each) Faber Castell TK9505 & 9555 0.5. Fortunately they are each a different lead hardness type from my originals…. I plan on acquiring one of each for both models, I love them that much. These were EBay finds for $22.00 each, so I knew what I had to do.

– (3) Micro Co.,ltd.: JEDO 2000(silver,black/NOS/og box). JEDO 3000(silver,red/NOS/og box). JEDO 5000(gold,tacky imitation marble(?). All 0.5mm

The 3000 is my favorite. The 5000 is painful to any beholder and the 2000 has a seemingly poorly designed grip. They all have lead hardness indicators, but since I’m not South Korea version of King Arthur, they don’t budge…. $35.00 for all three. In hindsight, I’d pay $20 for the 3000, but not $35.00 for all three :person_facepalming::moneybag::heart_hands:.

–Pentel 0.5mm (no idea what model), generic, old. Functions.

—SUN-STAR HI-FIT 0.3mm: I thought this would be a Mitsubishi/drafix ripoff, but I was wrong. SAME price range, but this is 5x’s better in every way. It is a quality drafter, sold for cheap. NOT a cheap drafter.

—Platinum Pro-Use MSD 300 0.3mm: a surprise purchase as well. Nothing incredible, but I’ve found myself reaching for it do to its…. No Clue…. But Bravo.

—EFINI 0.5mm (Fuji corona mimic): I already owned one of these, stumbled upon it for $9 or so on mercari/jap… AMAZING pencil, can’t believe it isn’t highly sought after…. Imagine my surprise when I discover THREE being sold for $12 on merc japan months later…. These must be handed out as a token gift a Mt.Fuji or something, but MAN am I happy they are so undervalued/undisired.

And FINALLY(!!!): I finally found a scratch free PILOT display. (Pencils already owned )

Excellent harvest! Korean JEDOs always give me pause. There is something about Korean designs of the 80s and 90s that try so hard to convince buyers of their worthiness… but critical examination always reveals something fundamental that is off or lacking. Fascinating nonetheless!

FC TK 9555 is a great item. A really solid and unique design. I wish there were just the FC version and not other-branded versions. Alas.

That pilot set is fantastic. Such a well-rounded, top-tier grouping. Love it.

How is the JEDO?

Cheap F. Castell ripoffs(if my memory serves).

Money spent on another MP would undoubtedly be to one’s benefit

Nice pickups, HJ!

I hear you about the H-3003. There was a tough spike going for a while, but it seems like prices have come down lately. And the stronger USD to JPY has helped a lot. I recently picked up a user H-3003 for just under ¥12k, that has some obvious signs of use, but nothing detrimental like a dent or a crack. A little polish and micromesh will clean it up well. I already have an H-3003, but wanted a user grade example so I could put it to periodic use.

Wow, that’s awesome!!! Well done…

Here I was proud of paying only 19,000¥:sweat_smile::thinking::cry:

Thank you

Are their companies aside from Mitsubishi that make a TK9555 variant???

There is the Golden Axe 0.3 version, as described here, but it seems just a variant of the Mitsubishi, and I don’t know how deep you want to chase variants and sub-sub-variants of that particular model.

Well yours is in better shape! Mine has some unsightly scratches that I expect will buff out… and the lead hardness indicator has worn a bit. Eraser cap has a dense patina (but that can be buffed out to a degree).

EDIT: Finally got it in hand. Looks better than in photos. Some micromesh and polish… looks great now.

Today-Coincidentally enough- I see one )of your old Pinterest Faber Castell posts. In it is the TK METAL 9609, which is what the Jedo 3000 seems to take its’ “inspiration”(/steal its’ design from). What’s crazy if, I have NEVER seen or heard of the TK METAL 9609 before…

When was it released? Does it come in an other lead variations that 0.9mm()…… That’s the only reason I can see myself remaining oblivious to its existence fřt

From a quick search, there seems to be a reasonably complete series: 9603, 9605, 9607 and 9609; I found a listing from a French-Canadian seller on Ebay who had all the tip sizes, but it sold out quickly. That pencil seems interesting, possibly even more than the TK-FINE VARIO L.

The ‘TK Metal 960x’ came out in 2016 as a Korea-only release. The design is almost identical to the Xeno CX series, which is marked with a ‘designed in Japan’ claim. My FC 9609 was a terrible example: I believe the rubber lead retainer was missing right out of the box and because of that, the pencil couldn’t function correctly. I have a Xeno CX-03 and a CX-1.3 and both work great.

That is a 350E or PS-350E. The PS- was added when they started calling it a Sharp 5. There is a green version, 350D. I’ve never seen any color variations besides those two in 0.5mm.

It is a 350E. If you blow the picture up, you can read the text under the clip.
It should read:
PENTEL 350E 0.5mm MADE IN JAPAN

You’ve got a much better eye than me! I can barely see any of the text even fully zoomed.

Primarily, I can see the “0.5mm” (no parentheses around it) under there.

The text on the PS-350 reads:
PENTEL Sharp 5 (0.5mm) PS-350 JAPAN

I had no idea.

Coincidentally, I own the XENO CX-0.3 (r&d japan).

Thank you for the knowledge!
