Help with ruined graphgear 500

The gg 500 I ordered arrived today. There was something of a rattle with the pencil, so i wedged a bit of post-it note between the pencil body and the lead reservoir.

Problem is, i think i put too much paper in. Now advancing lead feels really squishy and unsatisfying, though it does still technically work.

Is there any way to fix this without breaking the thing? thanks :frowning:

Maybe try a little tape around the lead tube instead. Should keep the rattle down and allow movement.

eventually i used rubbing alcohol to squidge the paper down

next time i’ll do that instead… almost killed this pencil

thanks!

The GG500 is not designed to be fully disassembled, I.e. the clutch is friction fitted to the lead reserve tube through the neck opening. This is a similar issue to the Pilot S5 and S10. So the pencil is basically FUBAR. You might as well try to pull the clutch and learn something from the destructive process.

not quite, maybe not 100% in new condition but I did manage to salvage it and it works! now just waiting for it to dry out
