Can anyone help me identify the maker of this pencil? It was included with a Pickett slide rule that came with a “carry-all” case, often referred to by slide rule collectors as the “Batman” case. Thank you!
By the shape of the button and the clip, I would guess CONTE or GILBERT, or one of their several partnership entities/names…What does it say on the button?
Thanks! It’s hard to tell, but I think these are the letters: “R TE (smaller font with a line underneath) S. G. D. G.” The “R” might be “B”.
It’s a “B”…that whole thing is sort of like “patented”…they dropped it on later versions of this exact model…
Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement
Translated from French, this means **“Patented Without Government Guarantee.”
Nice pencil…if you ever care to part with it…
Thank you so much for the info! I will let you know if I ever decide to part with it. Thanks again!
As per this page, it should be a Criterium 2013; check whether the rear cap has an integrated lead pointer, in that case we have a confirmation.
Congratulations on a very nice piece: I am learning a bit more about the French breed of mechanical pencils and lead holders lately, and I have found very good quality and interesting form factors so far.
@SlideRules @lsd300 It seems that Pickett got their leadholder supplies from a variety of sources. The top black one is from Japan, next blue one is almost certainly an Ecobra so probably from Germany, 3rd blue one is pretty generic but Made in Germany and the last is made in France. BTW all will be for sale eventually. allanmac.com
Top one seems a Uchida Drawing Holder S, or something alike.
