Favorite Mechanical Pencil Lead

Howdy,

Only been here shortly lurking in the weeds. Just curious as to what is your go to lead refill is?

I have been mostly a vintage fountain pen and ballpoint guy, however over the last 2 yrs. find myself using vintage 1.1mm MP’s, 0.5, 0.7mm, etc. more and more.

Have used Pentel 0.5mm 4B for years, however am enamored with Pilot Neox Graphite 0.5 4B lead. It is smooth as using a fountain pen, easy to erase and love how dark it is.

Anyone have any comments on they’re favorite lead?

I also really enjoy dark Neox leads, as well as the hi-uni 2mm leads in 4B.

I put I price that is high enough so it doesn’t sell

Many years ago I discovered Pilot Eno NeoX leads in 2B, and despite testing several other brands, I have always returned to these (now named Pilot Neox Graphite). I use these in 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm, and I have such a stockpile that I could easily write until I am 250 years old

My favorite has to be the Uni Smudge Proof leads! I make language notes, and it has not smudged on me yet!

Thank you kind person!

I freaking love neox graphite lead! It has the best darkness in my opinion. Even the HB is really good!

Indeed! In very rare cases, I use Neox Graphite leads in HB and B, and I am equally satisfied with them.
