Faber-Castell Leadholders: Any suggestions for a starting bid on eBay?

I am selling these leadholders, but they are in terrible condition!

Any suggestions for a starting bid on eBay?

All depends on what you paid…. $25 is what I’d say with a buy it now for $50

I cann’t remmeber how much I paid for them, that was too long ago.

Do you think I would do better selling the pencils individually? I also think I can list two good sets, each of all four colors (black, blue, silver, and gold).

They’re pretty ugly, yes. Maybe you could take them apart and put together a pair of good ones with the best parts.

I’d say make the sets
Sell them 45 a piece and auction the rest starting at 10

I will create the sets and list the rest at a starting bid of $10. I know it is better, historically, to have them all in one lot, but the opportunity cost for such an option may be high…
Thank you very much @DarkwingDuck & @First_Sail

Just here to say that this is very interesting, using push button color to indicate lead grade is something I’ve never seen done before! And it’s metallic! They’re pretty cool.

Staedtler used to do something like that, and in a very clever way: every one of their 2.00 mm lead container for 12 lead cores had a tiny space at one end for a color-coded rear button which could be traded for any of their leadholders original cap; in this way, not only it was possible to tell the lead content of a clutch pencil at a glance, but it was possible to carry the lead core and its identifying cap all over a collection of leadholders.

See here for a short video explaining the technique with a direct example.

The Faber Castell tk9595 I think or the 9502 (or both) comes with spare caps for that also
