Faber 9765 A Color for Everyone

I love these variations! The pink is so out of left field! Do they all use plastic clutches? I have a couple of FC ‘COLORMATICS’ but they don’t have the same charm.

I will check, I haven’t disassembled either of them. I will say that I’ve noticed two color variations in the 9755 (sliding sleeve) and it’s the same body. I want to try to compile them as well

To be very clear if you go searching for these or anyone, I DID NOT pay anything at all even like this for these.
Maybe the most expensive was $20

Do you have any information about when the “Hit” branded version was produced? I had never seen one before your post, but by sheer coincidence on the very same day I bought a Faber-Castell drafting set briefcase that contains three of the Hit pencils in red, green and orange (I think, or it could be yellow) along with quite a few other goodies. I will try to work out an approximate date when it arrives.

Woooow that’s awesome! There’s red “hit” on eBay right now for a terrible amount of money. I also know of a brown one in existence but not a “hit”.
No I don’t know when they were produced, but I’m excited for you to get this kit and post some pictures.

I never considered searching for a kit though I don’t know why because a kit is always the cheapest place to get a nice pencil if it’s still included.

Thanks, hopefully there will be enough clues in the briefcase to figure out a date. It was fairly inexpensive (ÂŁ50 GBP), possibly because it was a custom set produced for NEFF, the German kitchen appliance manufacturer. It seems to have been made specifically to their requirements (hence the coloured fineliners) and there is even a mystery NEFF-branded instrument (pen? pencil? eraser?) that can be seen at the top right of this auction photo:

The main reason I bought it was that I already have briefcases by rotring and Staedtler, so it only seemed right to complete the trinity! Besides, Faber-Castell was actually the originator of the drawing-board briefcase and even had a patent on it from 1973.

I love it, I’d say the “yellow” is definitely orange. If you want to trade something for the red (or any really, only if you’re splitting up the case) I’ll be glad to trade or buy it.
I just noticed the two 9500! If you don’t have one already, I think you’ll love them!

It’s interesting to think of the engineers and the designers using their own product to create drawings for new products.
I deal with sales rep who used to work with Penn Barry fan manufacturers before even Penn was there.
She now works as a representative at a distributor and is THE source for all information on Penn Barry fans.
The designers with Faber Castell designing a case essentially for themselves using their product is a fun proposition to consider.
Ol Mr Faber comes in one day and says “alright team, you’ve done great and our products are unmatched. Now the task is to create what you’d like to make this outfit portable!”
