Diplomat Sportec was made in West Germany. Styling reminds me of Pentel Technomatic but I have paired it here with a ixi:z Individually Basic 0.5.
The plastic nose cone has raised lettering ‘W -GERMANY’.
It features a painted metal barrel sheath around a removable black plastic tube. The plastic tube secures the clip at the rear end and threads onto the nose cone at the front end. I like the notch in the metal sheath to receive the clip anchor.
The mechanism looks like a match with the Rotring automatic LS. I believe LS was made between 1987 and 93, so this example was likely launched around the same time as the LS.
