Hi guys. The banal reason for opening this post is to share it with you, but mainly to beg you for a like. A simple like that neither enriches nor impoverishes anyone, but for my insignificant YouTube channel it’s worth its weight in gold.
I’ve been editing videos made with AI, nothing interesting. I think, or I’d like to think, that this one I’m sharing with you is the first one that might be worth the effort. If you could give me a like, I’ll repay you with invaluable gratitude from my pencil-writing heart.
Meta AI to generate the image, with those images I generate videos with Vidu, and CapCut to edit. Because the videos that Vidu generates with prompts are not that good.
It’s amazing how far you can go using AI. I remember a lot of early AI generation tools had problems with human hands. In your videos they look pretty realistically rendered. No extra fingers.
OK, I have to ask… what’s with the obsession for NASA space suits? I’m guessing Max is an extraterrestrial swan of some kind that needs to be in a closely controlled environment? I can see the appeal of using a swan as the main character. You can kind of get away without needing to bother with beak movement for the voice. While the women generate really well, the mouth movement generated by AI for speaking is lousy. I wonder if there are some AI users who have managed to find ways to get more accurate movement synchronized to speech.
Anyway, I gave likes to your videos. Good luck with your project!
I suppose I could give it symbolism or intellectualize the meaning of the NASA suit but the truth is much simpler, like every child I also wanted to be an astronaut.
Regarding the swan, I have always liked its way, so somehow my subconscious united the two things.
The generation of images and videos with artificial intelligence still has problems with the hands and the movement of the lips when speaking, in fact I have to make dozens of videos and choose the ones that are closest to what I am trying to obtain, so finally I am the one who adapts the script to the gestures of the characters.
I sincerely thank you for the like and your kind comment above.
I’ve seen many posts about artists being vehemently against the usage of A.I… if I may ask: How did you land on the side of “Pro”? Also, do you disagree with those against? Or simply ignore?
Personally, I’m against, but I would love to hear your opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance !
Hopefully this came off as friendly instead of adversarial
I am absolutely in favor, I will try but I do not promise brevity in my argument. By the way, technological advances always had detractors who believed they saw in the popularization of new resources a setback for traditional means of doing things, the appearance of photography meant the abandonment of painting. It was not like that, the painters took other paths and photography made its way into art, the documentation and recording of events, etc. It is not the instrument, but who uses it and the use to which it is given.
It happens that, since many have access to the media and everyone believes they are artists, mediocrity is rampant. It has always been like this. This is what happened with television, its popularization caused its mediocratization.
Anyone who is against AI is going to have to adapt or go to the woods.
Do you remember those illustrations from the first half of the 20th century where the vision of the future was shown, flying cars from the 50s? Tell me if reality hasn’t overcome it.
I really think that Terminator; I, robot; HAL 9000 and other cinematic visions of the future are going to be innocent propositions when viewed within 100 years.
One common theme is: most people didn’t see it coming, while the voices of those who did were drowned out by hostile naysayers. Then it happens… and things go so wrong that the warnings and denying get lost in the shuffle to survive.
There won’t be any truly sentient AI that takes a hostile position upon humans. It’ll be humans instructing compliant AI servant programs to carry out certain limited hostilities. As history has shown, human beings are the most cruel creatures on Earth. Especially to their own kind, and the selective breeding of animals for mass slaughter, to the point where even their brief life on Earth is a torture. We’re still on a crescendo of that trend. The ultimate loser in all of this will be humanity, as it makes Earth’s natural habitat that has been human-friendly into a toxic wasteland incapable of supporting human life… and most other complex life. All of the greedy, selfish aims used to hamstring the freedom of humanity will have been for naught. I pity the kids of today, who will likely see the great civilization collapse at some later point in their lifetimes. Those of us in mid-life and above won’t likely live to see it… but we’ll be going out knowing the inevitable is coming.
