Collection For Sale

Hi, never got the DM….what’s up?

If about this post [WTS] [USA] Collection cleanout

…I’m not the seller.

Hi there! It was about this post we’re in right now ( Collection For Sale ). I don’t think I replied to your message tho, how did you get a notif for it?

One huge lot like this would be a major win for someone who just stepped up to vintage pencil collecting and missed out on a lot. It’s not just the prices paid for buying them, but the time and effort for the search. That adds up to quite a lot.

Looks like @BicCristal may not have moved this here and went elsewhere, given the last message in April.

IMHO, it’s better to do smaller groupings if you really don’t want to sell piece by piece.

My bad, I have a notification for new posts in marketplace in my email…thought it was addressed to me. Sorry for the confusion!

Tbh I’m only interested in 2 of them out of the entire lot. I know he wants to sell the whole thing as one but 1 model of those is impossible to find anywhere since it’s been discontinued. Nobody wants to sell it xD So I tried my luck asking him anyway

I think we all have tried that haha

Which pencils in particular?

The model I crave for the most right now is the Manufactum Druckbleistift, black (14862). I did ask him about the UNI M5-1052 0.5 as well, but I’m a little hesitant on that one. Mainly because I have a Graph1000 which seems almost the same visually. There are some others I’d like to own but those aren’t in his collection

Yeah sadly the Manufactum site no longer has the black one listed. It looks to be discontinued. And now of course tariffs have thrown another cost layer into the mix when buying from overseas.

The M5-1052 is different from the Graph 1000. It FEELS very close, but it has a very nice knurled grip. Excellent mechanism.

I did confirm with their customer service who said those pencils are indeed discontinued. You can still find it by external search tho: https://www.manufactum.de/druckbleistift-messing-05-mm-mine-a14862/ . The brass one is still available for €50 right now, but I’m not a fan of its color and the fact that it builds patina over time

I’ve heard praise about the UNI 1052. The thing is I’m mainly going based on visuals. And since the Pentel I already have looks really close, I’m not sure I want “another one” of it. I tend to only get the same or a similar model multiple times if I really like their colors, for example a couple of Rotring 600s I have

The 1052 is in an entirely different class than the Graph 1000.

If you’re not going to get a 1052 then you should at least get the m5-551

The hi uni 2050/3050/1052/551 (and probably more) tips are all interchangeable with each other.

It’s a very comfortable pencil with a satisfying mechanism, it’s worth noting that I do not like the Graph 1000. I have the original 5 because I like the way they look with the old stickers… other than that I will never pick one up to use.

the 1052, 3050, 551 I use all of the time!

Interesting. I’ll keep it in mind. Obviously you guys are a lot more experienced, but personally I like the Graph1000 a lot. But also I’ve never used those other models so I don’t have a base of comparison. I’ll check them out, thanks for the details :]

I’ve been eyeing at the Uni M5-552 model as well

552 is nice if you like metal grips.

Truly you can’t go wrong within this family of pencils!

Zebra Cardy’s. A ton of fun. Each card comes with both a pen and a mechanical pencil

I’m around, and it’s all still for sale! Though if it goes listed for much longer and I end up buying a house where I can display them, I’ll probably just keep them.

Well if you decide to sell some of them individually, I’m still interested in getting that Manufactum
