I have a few unopened blister packs of the XF7 - but from different time periods. One the back, one says “Made in Japan” and the other "Made in West Germany" - but on each, if you look at the pencil, both clearly say “Japan”.
the “XF” line seems to have been around a long time - does anyone here have any information on the XF series of pencils, and when they switched from Japan to W. Germany (or vide versa)?
Google Gemini (which I’m finding out can make things up sometimes) is saying this model in particular started production in Japan and then move to W. Germany, but that would make this pencil older than I think it is.
BTW - I bought these because they were cheap and in really bad condition (the packaging). Does anyone here think a “restoration” video would be of any interest? I have a few tricks that I wanted to do to see if I could make these look any better (the top image, for example) - but not sure if anyone would be interested.
