Caran d'Ache Fixpencil 77 -- what's this strange icon all about?

They almost look like an icon for an aerial bomb.

“Fish” pencil? :smirk::wink::smile:

FWIW, There’s usually just 1 dorsal fin on a fish.

Think it’s fish…

*not my pic

I second the “three fish” option, it is the correct one. They can be found as a “stripped-to-the-bone” logo, or as a more elaborate and realistic design. They mostly appear on older specimens, as the newer ones prefer plain letters only.

Nice “Fixpencil 3” in the last image (bottom piece), looks like a stubbier, shorter version of the classic Fixpencil 22 and/or Fixpencil 77 — but it sports the notorious sanded metal grip zone, which I don’t particularly fancy.

I am still on the hunt for a short Fixpencil 23, if anyone is willing to let one go or trade it for something else; I recently came as close as I could to fulfilling my goal by buying a Criterium 2403 (short body with grooved grip, all aluminum, quite light but a bit girthier), and I’m quite happy with the outcome of the purchase. Still, I could be happier… :slight_smile:

You got me laughing out loud with that last line. That is the pure essence of collecting.

Yeah, the top one definitely looks like it has fish icons. They changed it at some point, where they made the fish icon oddly symmetrical top-to-bottom.

I sold mine… many regrets…

The 3 fishes could be stylised perches. Pure speculation.
