Anyone interested in the upcoming Luddite ALTDRAW?

According to the official Luddite account, the Altdraw is going to launch in July. It was scheduled to launch in March but apparently there was an unexpected delay. There are Matte Silver / Matte Black metal fittings, and Cherry wood / Walnut barrels, similar to the Everdraw. It is going to be priced at 6,600¥(Tax Included).

When I shared this in the Korean community lots of folks were skeptical about the design and price. Personally I don’t think this looks better than the Everdraw, but I’m willing to try it out because of my positive experience with the company’s previous pencils. What are your thoughts?

I do enjoy their designs but I’m actually feeling a bit of Luddite-fatigue at the moment. I don’t need yet another technical-hybrid styled pencil in 0.5mm. I want to see a 2mm lead holder if they’re not ever going to do 0.7 or 0.9. I think this release could’ve been sold as custom parts for the Everdraw if they planned it more carefully.

I think if any company could pull off a leadholder in 2026 it would be Luddite.

With the Techdraw2, recently Luddite revealed they actually were planning to sell custom parts from the start by making the barrel removable. So I think that the Everdraw wouldn’t be very customizable because the barrel is glued onto the grip. Maybe they could have sold different metal fittings…? Like different ferrules, clips, knobs, etc.

Only if it’s thicker and lighter than Everdraw and comes in 0.3mm

Knurled cap is cool!

That’s exactly what I thought. Like the special body they sold for the Techdraw 2.

It really does look like the wooden tech draw except they made it thicker and put an alpha matic esque cap on it.

I like the stepped nose cone and semi-knurled eraser cap. Very sharp.

I’d not gotten around to buying an Everdraw yet. Used prices are pretty decent, at least they were the last time I looked (late 2025). Might hold off and see how reviews of the ALTDRAW turn out.
