I’m not much for vague greetings, so it’s Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this blessed day! I pray for peace as 2023 comes to an end and may 2024 be better for everyone
Recently recieved a DJ Fugle LeadLok 2mm, and mine unfortunately has a rather scratchy/catchy mechanism. Any soloutions to that? don’t wanna go about spraying WD-40 all willy nilly before getting advice.
If you have the same model here’s how I disassemble it.
- Press and hold down the button to extend the clutch. Remove any lead and unscrew it by turning anti clockwise.
2. That will allow you to remove the inner tube and spring. The spring acts against the edge of the button and the inner wall of the grooved end piece.
3. The front and back end pieces can be unscrewed for full disassembly. The button can be unscrewed too.
Then it’s up to you how much cleaning and lubrication you want to do. I only applied a little metal polish to the outer surfaces of the copper? clutch and then used lighter fluid to clean off any excess polish. Then a very light dab of WD40. Avoid getting any oils into the inner tube… it can cause leads to stick to the inner walls and is hell to remove.
Merry Christmas to all (to whom it applies)!
It’s musical Christmas with DJ fugle at the turn tables
Jealous! Have been looking for an Eagle Turquoise or Criterium 2603
What is the bottom holder?
It’s a FUJI 2100 from the 60s. An early Mitsubishi OEM 2mm like the DEMI 300. The DEMI is a clutch pencil but the FUJi has a nice sophisticated push pencil mechanism in brass, with a large cilyndrical clutch operating inside the nose cone. The nose cone has a brass tip connected to another type of metal. Funny thing.
Wow, it is a repeater? Very cool. Would like to see the internals if you can take a pic.
The front end looks like a twist lock (like this Venus), but obviously that is not the case since it is a repeater. I don’t know of any other repeaters from that era that do not feature a visible clutch, Trupoint being the most notable repeater with visible clutch.
Not great pics, sorry, I’m in the middle of something
The imprints on mine are bit faded but curious nevertheless:
They read – For Drawing “FUJI” 2100 2.0 mm JAPAN –
They’re curious because Fuji is in brackets so it sounds like a model and not a brand… So in a way it’s unbranded.
I believe these were made by Mitusbishi and sold mainly in the US, possibly in that post-war venture spirit that was designed to bring together companies from both countries, like Yasutomo… The clip and the lettering is the same you find on the K-I-N Very Thin (*), DEMIs etc.
(*) the Very Thin was Koh-I-Noor’s, right? I don’t remember…
Thank you for the pics. Very cool.
Yes, KIN made the Very Thin. Strangely, I can’t find it online right now.
ahah, me neither, that’s why I started doubting myself
There are 2 threads on reddit that feature a “FUJI”. In one of them someone says it’s the same company as Fuji Corona and also talks about a Fuji 2000 that I was unable to find on the www…
IDK, maybe it’s someone with better info

edit: I suppose “dslinn300” is lsd300 on ebay… if so he’s probably right. In fact, I got the FUJI from him.
Back in the early 60’s, the first Pentel pencils were released with “PENTEL” in quotes.
You can see them on the first pages of the Pentel book. Model numbers without a letter (100, 101, 102, 111, 850).
Very good point!
Mystery solved.
KIN had a Japan-made ‘Very Fine’ 5619… possibly their first 0.5mm knock model.
The asking price on them varies widely. Too obscure.
