Very interesting! I found a leftover box of pentagonal-shaped wooden Palomino pencils many a moons ago, and I find those more comfortable than the pencils with standard hexagonal grip. I would be curious to see how this barrel fits my writing style, especially considering that I have never been able to grip a triangular barrel without feeling completely off.
I also like the tapered rear end and the decorative tailpiece; this model looks like a steampunk pencil, the pairing of the metal (brass, perchance?) with the leather is exquisite.
I bought a couple of plastic cog-wheels and removed cogs until I had a perfect pentagon. Then careful use of handheld powertools until I had a pentagonal grip the size I liked.
