Yes I have all but the last two releases.
The Locktite orange is so bold. There was a period (70s maybe) when Faber-Castell brand colors featured forest green, silver and orange. I have seen plenty of green and silver Locktites but this is a first for me with that amazing orange.
My new Tombow MonoGraph in orange was delivered today (part of my modest birthday haul). Gorgeous color - and IMHO an amazing pencil for the cost!
It really is!
@Pdunc67, I would have purchased the 1.3mm Rite in the Rain if there were 4B leads available easily in this thickness ![]()
Oh My!!! I love it!!
My thoughts exactly!
Threw in the pen cousin to @Pdunc67’s and a “gold” one, just because it seemed to fit.
I’ve never seen special coloured GraphGear 1000’s (I have several - but only silver) - where on earth would I find those?
They show up on Mercari and yahoo auctions occasionally.
Seems like many are limited runs sold (exclusively?) in stationery stores apparently in Japan and Korea mostly, which explains the rarity.
This may be the topic of another conversation, but personally I think it’s great that they do this. Although it creates a built in scarcity, it adds to the collectible market, builds interest in the hobby and rewards their loyal customers.
I’m of the mindset that a rising tide rises all ships, so anything that promotes our hobby I see as positive.
I’m assuming (more like hoping) the all black version they will be releasing this fall for the Graph’s 60th anniversary will be a little more available. No offense to the GG1000, it’s a decent pencil, but I don’t collect them and just can’t get myself to pay a ton of money for one at this point in my collection. Saving that money for some Hi-Uni FF magic.
Edit: FWIW I do plan to get the 60 black one - it looks very fricken cool ![]()
Edit: I have however seen a vision of my future where the GG1000 gets canceled, and I then at that time attempt to get some (but at 2-3x the current cost). ![]()
I haven’t really looked specifically for the GG1000 in years, so I don’t know how often the orange one comes up. I think the gold and some other colors are readily available at some decent prices. I have a duplicate of the “gold” one if you have anything to trade. (I also have a duplicate of the pink one.)
It’s very tempting… Thank you… But I have to keep my mind on one colorway only. Any variance from this and I would start to exponentially grow my collection, which I’m sure my wife would not be happy about!
I think that’s the 2017 revival of the classic Zoom 414 from 2005 ![]()
