The Pentel Clic family

Ok, I stand corrected! The purple I have is not what you meant. I’ll add it to the list!

Thank you… I think.

Hey, you asked. :joy:

I did. I only have myself to blame :frowning:

I really don’t think my wife had any idea how deep this MP-collecting hole is when she initially discovered and approved my habit. I ‘pay’ for it additionally by supporting her collection of Danish MCM spice jars and vases.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to open these and if I can help you fill a hole  I’d like to send you a red and purple if you want?

I don’t collect any of these, but wow… that PD335 looks amazing! I have a weakness for the black & white motif. Was this a collaboration model?

EDIT: “Mild Seven Collectible Tobacco Cigarettes” – I guess if that’s the case, used examples may end up yellowed, from cigarette tar?

Beautiful collection, I have a couple of those.

I wanted to ask you, where did you find that tray? It seems that the box is custom made for the pencils, what interests me most are the slots it has, I see that they have a notch that makes it easier to pick them up.

Heath, that is an incredible offer! Are you sure?

I bought this case from Penn State Industries. Sadly though, the biggest case they now sell only fits 64 pencils or pens. They discontinued the 96 pencil case a couple of years ago.

Yeah this was a promotional item for the Mild Seven cigarette company. I’ve only ever seen the one I have, but in general, the white on these PD335’s are harder to find not yellowed.

I wonder if this would be a good use of “retrobrighting” ?

Essentially soak it in hydrogen peroxide and expose to UV or sunlight.

See https://youtu.be/kjHjW4WwUhQ?si=Z6JNQw6eRTs4IJ1q

I did this a few years ago with an old football game I had back in the day
(Photo is not mine, but for reference)

It was nasty yellow, but ended up pristine white.
I’m out of town or I’d post actual pictures.

But it works.
Not sure how stickers would hold up though.

I’m planning to try retrobrighting on my quickcolours. Will probably start with the eraser caps first.

I’ve seen the videos of it used on Lego and it comes up looking like new.

@Heath, I’m curious. At what point did you realize: Hey! I just need 3-4 more QCs in this series and I’ll have a full set! ?

Coz I think this happens in other pencil genres too… “I just need one Pilot H-1095…”, etc. While for others, it never rises to an occasional color variant.

@drifand not to hijack your question by any means… every time I think I’m getting close, @Knockologist proves me wrong. It gives me reason to keep up the hobby though. So as much as I want them all, I’ll be a little melancholic if I ever ‘complete’ the set.

@drifand, you probably meant that for @dry but I will say I don’t start out looking to collect an entire series. However, for the things I’m really keen on, as I move along collecting and tracking what there was and what I have, it naturally happens.

Here’s my tracking sheet for the Pentel Clic if anyone is interested. Any corrections/updates are welcome!

A recent update to the sheet is that there’s a transparent blue PQ11!

Where did you see this? That’s exciting.

That spreadsheet makes me feel inadequate for some reason :frowning: (j/k)

Do you have a master collection pic, @Heath ?

Both you and @Knockologist have WAY more on that list than I do. I have 31 of the 88 in the tracking sheet and will be chipping away at it for a while - especially those older transparent PD335’s that don’t seem to ever come up for sale.

Here is the blue PQ11
