That might be that H-5005 he’s selling on his eBay store now (for $12,000!!!)
I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere, so here goes a tid bit of additional info: the grip diameter of the 1006 is about 10 mm, while on the 1052 its about 9 mm. Only noticeable when you handle them or put side by side
It’s hard to imagine the internal discussions at Uni when they made the 1006 ![]()
- Hey, why don’t we make a pen to go with the 1052 series. I want one!
- But we gotta widen the barrel and grip to fit the refill. I guess we could use a skinny refill but I like the SJ7
- OK, then since we are making new tooling, why not make a pencil as well?…
A yellow one being auctioned off right now.
Damn! 45k! Damn!
Dude, you’re already like 99% there. Grab the that foam and float to the finish line! ![]()
lol
Honestly, I want to but I know this thing would cause the package to sit in customs for at least a week because they’re crazy anymore….
I can’t handle that stress
The item description could literally say
“Empty Mitsubishi Uni 1052 mechanical pencil display made of foam and cardboard with 10 slots for mechanical pencil storage “
WITH the correct tariff code….
and customs would stop it with a note asking for more information about its composition and what it’s used for!
GUARANTEED
Perhaps less info is best? “Cardboard Display Stand / HS Code 4823.90”
Oh for sure
I said all that to illustrate the absurdity.
- You can’t write that long of a description.
- It just isn’t ever enough.
There was one package I sent that had only mechanical pencils
All tariff codes were mechanical pencils
They stopped it requesting I fill out a form about the originating country of the wood that’s in the package….
It was very difficult to explain that there’s literally not a single piece of wood in the package
Now knowing the tariff code though, you’re making it more difficult to not at least try….
