I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere, so here goes a tid bit of additional info: the grip diameter of the 1006 is about 10 mm, while on the 1052 its about 9 mm. Only noticeable when you handle them or put side by side

It’s hard to imagine the internal discussions at Uni when they made the 1006 
- Hey, why don’t we make a pen to go with the 1052 series. I want one!
- But we gotta widen the barrel and grip to fit the refill. I guess we could use a skinny refill but I like the SJ7
- OK, then since we are making new tooling, why not make a pencil as well?…
