Yeah no. Screw scalpers lol, I remember when McDonalds sold F1 car models last year as a limited thing and people drove around at 9 AM (launch hour) to all the McDonalds in town and bought 50 at once to resell it later.

“But it’s a natur…” I don’t care, it shouldn’t be that way.
“It’s they redistribute to those with higher willingness to pay…” In other words, it prevents normal enthusiasts and poorer fans from getting in on the hobby for no reason. Specially with mechanical pencils we all know how it is with some people having 50 models of the same pencil and never using them at all not even once. Sure man a mechanical pencil or a F1 model car isn’t essential but it’s still something I enjoy and I have as much right as anyone to enjoy this hobby.
Take the Dive as an example, launched for 40 USD but now costs 100 in the US because of scalpers.

Companies rarely increase production and no even if they do it rarely goes back to the normal consumers, scalpers just stock up even more.

I blame both the companies for being stupid with limited editions (implace limits!) and scalpers for perpetuating the issue for their own greed.

EDIT: This “free market” and “entrepeneurial” and “natural thing” talk is so out of touch with the reality of most people. Many things we consider/considered natural aren’t good things at all. And guess what, the “free market” isn’t even natural so your argument falls in on itself.

Blame scalpers or blame manufacturers?

Why not both?

And also guess what, the last time McDonalds made a new F1 model car promotion they decided to enforce a limit (2 per person – perfect, you can get one to use and one to preserve) and it all worked fine. Even nowadays, nearly 6 months later the models they released the 2nd time around are still findable for reasonable enough prices.

Your whole argument falls apart when you say limited-edition stationery is non-essential. It is absolutely essential.

I fear these auctions are going to set the price into the $70s usd for these things by the time they end.

Had some competing bids and paid a bit more than I wanted, but wasn’t missing out on this round of limited’s like I did the first time.

Did you get 1 of each?

I paid slightly over for a green 0.5 set.

I got a carbon and green 0.3 and paid just over $70 each so far… still have shipping and customs which is going to hurt.

Nice.

We don’t have tariffs (thankfully), we just have to pay more because of our garbage exchange rate.

Just got mine (original price)

‘‘Carbon Black’’ but it looks more like a dark-ish silver grey, lighter than the Gunmetal Rotring 600

There are more and more packs available every day without the pencil.
There will be ample lead containers available for decent money in time!

My green black set arrived this afternoon. The green is very subtle, absolutely fine by me, but if you’re keen on seeing the green more clearly, you might not like it so much.

The lead case is plain black, and just says Pentel Ain. Sleak, has a nice weight. It’s a screw top, which I think was a good decision from Pentel. I’m thinking I’d have to mark it somehow with the lead type I choose to put in it so I can remember later what’s in there… probably would use a sticker and write on it. It’s just a minor observation.

The eraser is sleek and lightweight. Has a nice but simple side advancing mechanism. I haven’t tried to erase anything with it yet.

There’s a pack of Pentel Ain 0.5mm B leads included (as you probably all know already).

Maybe just put standard “B” lead in it
Both because you’ll remember it came with it and because B for black just to make it simple.

If you use B lead that is

I’m happy to hear this!
