NPD. The A.W Faber-Castell tk 9505 microlette

Wow I’m really surprised, trading an alphamatic for this pilot. Why is it so rare? What do you love about it so much?

The Pilots are extremely cool and almost never appear on resale markets. You can always get an alphamatic if you want.

This may be doable. Lemme see what I have.

I prefer TK-matiks. Drafting MP’s are what I prefer. Executive-etc., generally hold ZERO interest for me.

This model Pilot, I can’t explain it. It’s simple, featureless…. But for some reason, it achieves being NOTHING like it’s fellow Pilots or MP’s as a whole.

Original price was ¥500.

I’ve only been able to acquire the 0.5mm woodgrain version. The rest of its’ colors and lead mm (0.3) call to me…. But I can never find them.

And the Tombow Montech 0.3mm if my ride or die pencil, forsaking ALL OTHERS. A 0.4mm might just be able to knock it of its’ pedestal though…. Green is SOOTHING, yellow is…. Not enjoyable.

I’ll be on the edge of anything I’m sitting on until you let me know :crossed_fingers:

I still can’t get over how happy I am that you found this link for me, THANK YOU!!!….

I learned TWO things from this purchase:

•A) This pencil is NOTHING to write home about…. 45$ was 4.5x its actual worth.

-2) EBay seller’s goals are NOT in tune with Collector’s desires. Anything “not available? “150.00$+”…. REGARDLESS of quality cough, COUGH….

The 9515 is now added to the mix. I recommend the MICROLETTE 9505 TEN-TIMES over the 9515.

Good luck!!!

I’m pretty sure the clip will cost you $105

You’re welcome!! Just a shame the pencil looked better than it was. I’ve noticed a lot of old faber castells have shot up in price to the point they’re not worth it, I would love to collect them.

lol :joy:, I’m sure as well.

I am FOR REAL glad you did. This is the first of their’s I’ve actually found with ZERO redeeming qualities.

Is a bad pencil. Learning so is the value here

You’re right. It’s not as good as the others, esp. because it lacks a little heft. But even so i find it a nice, good-looking pencil and it has the right lenght.

It is actually very very similar to the Staedtler Microfix or the newer Micrograph HS with the sliding sleeve. To a point that they seem inspired on each other. It has the same “faux” brushed aluminium feel that is present in the Staedtlers and a similar weight (which I think should be 15g instead of 12,5g).

The lead advances with a loud click and yet more spectacularly the pencil has no emergency eraser — which I’ve always thought is sort of a skeuomorphism in a professional tool when they’re there.

The push button is actually very unique with a long cleaner pin attached to it, like the accugraphs.
