Yes, can do - there is already a private chat going but a new post would allow others to jump in on the goodness. Will do that in the morning.

The ballpoint Fumi Raku typically sells for half or even less than the mechanical pencil. I finally have a ballpoint on the way to me. Very much looking forward to it!

Nice! Which one did you pick up? For the ballpoint there’s three models, the glossy ones, some matte/textured ones and the two wood models. I have both wood models and a black glossy one. All of them are splendid ballpoints with an amazing design, but I’m more drawn towards the wooden ones. The textured ones are also nice, I had a chance to buy one for MSRP and I didn’t get it since I was a broke student and had to save for other things, but now I kinda want it.

I got the ironwood model in black (LINK). I love it!

I posted about the Fumi Raku HERE.

Just got a shipment of Tom Dixon ‘Cog’ pencils in brass. These are very nice ‘suits’ for the Schmidt inside.

I am curious what deal you got on them. I think the MSRP on the pencils is around $85 USD. But somehow they seem to end up in overstock situations. I would guess this is because the sales outlet for them is boutique gift shops, not stationery stores.

A few times I have found very good deals. My first set of three was about $25 or $30 per pencil. A year or two later I found a set of the three different styles (along with a brass ruler and a tea strainer) all for $30.

Like you said, they are very nice suits. Originality in the tapered and flared designs too.

I got them off a seller on eBay UK. Roughly 39 GBP for a set of 2, the ‘Tube’ with clip and the ‘Top’. The Top is also sold singly for around 20 GBP.

The hard part is the third design, the ‘Flare’ which I had to pay 47 GBP to a different seller.

I see. Yes, the flare is harder to cone by, but I don’t understand why. Can it really be more popular? The flush push button on it is so cool - perhaps the only MP with that design feature.

Love my Diplomat Aero.

Which colour did you get?

I learned about them from you, when I came across your review of the Aero mechanical pencil.:wink::blush:

I think some of OHTO’s offerings can be included here. Over engineered drafting pencils. Their older models already command a premium, I am sure their current MS01 will do the same as the years go on and the production is no longer.

I completely agree about the Rotring 600. The 0.3 size has almost doubled in price already.
Also the Automac didn’t get much praise while it was still in production, but after it was discontinued, the price doubled. As for the S30, there is still plenty of supply, so it’s easy to find for now, but in a few years, it will be treated like the Automac.

But the problem… from what I understand, is that it has a plastic chuck that ends up causing slippage after not much time in usage. And trying to clean it is very tricky. It seems like this is a big factor for it not having much favor, and the S20 still preferred by most.
