Caran D'Ache Fixpencil

Here is mine that I just found again while looking thru some boxes… I bought it around 1985 in Sweden, and it’s a Fixpencil 77 - but it seems a little bit different from all the ones I find pictures of online. The cap is smooth and black and doesn’t contain a sharpener, and the grip is pretty smooth (might be worn down :-). Still works great though. I just wish I could find the other ones I used to have…

Welcome @ptrrkssn ! Great pencil to start on. Straight up, no mixer black 77. Look forward to more.

So here are a couple of nice minty examples of the Fixpencil 31 I just received - red and blue versions in their boxes with paperwork. I switched out the red lead for the 3mm Caran d’Ache and it fits and dials nicely, though needs support if sharpening it in a blade pointer, as the brass collar that holds the lead doesn’t have enough pinch to resist the bite of the blade. The grease leads they came with came in at 2.92mm but i guess 6 decades of shrinkage might account for that with non fired refills, maybe. Nice heavy pencils. The dial action has a feature where a plunger extends into the brass ferrule inside the barrel, to eject the lead, which made changjng them easier and that mechanism feels very well engineered. Happy to part with the blue one for the right price
