You will never see another auction come close to this one in terms of liquidating a fairly comprehensive high-end collection.
The asking price is so high, Buyee won’t even let me bid on it
But seriously, the seller is obviously lazy, or else they’d take the time to stoke the audience by letting them know each piece is about to be on the auction block.
I think it would be fairly thrilling to liquidate this inventory on YAJ.
Update: I actually think the seller did this to let everybody know what they can expect to see on the auction block, but he’s getting some negative feedback from people (unintended consequences).
Also, I kind of admire how this person had the restraint to only buy 0.5 models of the most sought-after pencils. (It’s also clear he settled for 0.3 in some hard-to-find cases.)
Fascinating collection with a high-end bias, though!
I contacted Buyee about this seller, and apparently, he’s rejected Buyee’s proxy bidding usernames. (I didn’t even know sellers had the option to do this.)
Therefore, Buyee users will not be able to bid on his forthcoming auctions.
I may actually hit up ZenMarket for this, as homey is liquidating the goods.
I don’t know if my proxy would let me bid on this, and I won’t try. I guess he would love to sell everything at once, but if nobody bids (and I guess nobody will, altho a quick accumulation justifies a 5-digit € price) he will sell piece by piece … The auction presentation is not so random like some heritage sales in the past, but still quite unbalanced: no knockologist would hide a set of micromatics barely visible at the side, or 2 automacEs in the background!
Anyway, the reason why I write is: what is the FC silver gold alphaball in the 1st photo? I have seen a similar pencil in the past, but always thought it was a bleached executive or some customized thing …
At ebay there was an auction for this pen (it was the first evidence I ever saw!). I was prepared to bid, but unfortunately in the auction the stupid “price suggestion” option was active. So the auction was ended with a non-disclosed buying offer before the bidding started at all. Damn!
Only thing I took from the auction was the info, that it is a rotary mechanism (other alpha-balls have push-knobs).
