Hopefully we can get it started again….

Looks to be either Bakelite or galalith to start…
Ohhh idk the material though I think it’s standard plastic
It is most likely of an age to have used that material.
Pilot 2020 Enpitsu Sharp? ![]()
No, though it could be Japanese, it doesn’t say Japan on it.
That isn’t a Bruynzeel Automatic is it?
No but I both considered that one and it was right next to this one for what that’s worth
Dang, I totally thought I had it – the tips are identical but wasn’t sure about the color!
And the only reason I even had a guess was I just got a black one from Sander @svb.
Sander sent me one too! He’s the Bryunzeel Dealer
KIN Hardtmuth “Studio” 5612 in 0.5, perhaps? I have one pencil in that colour, with a brown rear cap, which looks like the spitting image of your picture.
I am unsure, however, that KIN is the original maker, and I sense that there might be other (possibly “more original”?) progenitors around.
@Leonov got it!!!
Well, I have to admit, after comparing the two models, they are veeeery similar.
Thanks @DarkwingDuck , I’ll try to fetch the community a new challenge; I just happen to have in mind a pencil for you to recognise… ![]()
I hadn’t heard of “Studio” before. Reminds me of the Sharplet with its simple charm.
KIN has had several pencils/set monikered with “Studio” digging around as we speak..sorta…
Some early (‘50’s) L+C HARDTMUTH “Studio”pencils …evidently they were not too sure who was their market as the sets came in “kids’“ dress and more mature graphic versions…then they transformed into the Verastil Technicolor sets and away we went
They also had at least one woodcased pencil with the name “studio-special”.
This reminds me of an old Japanese variety show called “TVチャンピオン” One episode was themed around Stationery King, where contestants could identify the exact brand and model using incredibly picky details—sometimes by looking at nothing more than the pencil lead or the eraser.
I think this forum could probably furnish enough contestants for several seasons of Stationery King.
Kudos to Stationery King for his dedicated research into settling the debate of whether Newman really beat Pentel to produce the world’s first 0.2mm leads and sharp!
