I had a lot of fun just drawing random things in school, when I was bored, and now that I am 30, I am getting bored in life again, so I am getting back to drawing sometimes.
I decided to use pencil, as I am still pretty bad at it lol, and will need to erase.
I decided mechanical will be better for me, as it’s less hassle, than having to sharpen a wooden one, and mechanical also won’t get smaller over time.
I also like to buy good quality things, with whatever I do, not cheap garbage. So I was debating between the Rotring 600, and the Uni Kuru Toga Roulette. In the end I went with the Roulette, off Amazon. I picked up a box of Pentel Super Hi-Polymer 2B and sketchbook at Staples tonight.
I think the Kuru Toga Roulette already comes with Uni Nano Dia 0.5mm HB in it, so I will try that first. If not, I have lead to use anyways. Though from my understanding, of lead grades, 2B should at least in theory be better for drawing.
Currently working on my first. Will of course share it once I feel it is complete.
it feels quite comfortable and light (the pencil) though it rotating mechanism doesn’t seem to be of much use for my current drawing, because most of what I am doing is shading. Perhaps it will work better for writing and more detail drawing, where you are pressing it down far more often, and not holing the lead on an angle.
Edit: taking a bit of a breather now, because it’s like about 60% complete now.
